We've been doing some work on improving our main Keywords tool. This is an ongoing process, but we'd like to keep you updated on what we're doing.

We've been doing some work on improving our main Keywords tool. This is an ongoing process, but we like to keep you updated on what we're doing.

Simplification

One thing you'll notice is that we've renamed the In Anchor and Title column to 'Competition' - we've realised that some people have found the original term tricky to understand, so we've simplified it. It's the same powerful metric though - showing the amount of pages that have been directly optimized for each keyword. There are more comprehensive explanations of all of the metrics in our help files (you'll need to be logged in to the Keywords Tool to view this link).

Streamlining the Process

The main change at the moment is that you can now get competition data at the same time as search counts - so searching on a keyword will bring back not only a keyword list with search counts, but also the (newly named) Competition figure as well as KEI and KEI3, so the process of building your keyword lists for evaluation has got quicker. You can still get the Google count with a click of the 'Get Google Count' button, and as ever, choose between getting a quoted or unquoted count.

Talk to us if you need help

Another thing we've done to try and make things easier for you is to put a link to our live chat system on the tool itself - you'll find it in the navigation bar near the top right - so if you find yourself with a question, or just have a comment to make while you're working, it might be more convenient (during UK office hours) to speak with someone directly and not have to wait for an email response.

We do like to hear back from people that use our tools, so if you've any comments or suggestions, drop us a line at support@wordtracker.com or leave a comment here.

There'll be more news over the coming weeks months, so do come back to check, or add this blog to your RSS feed
